Mike,

That is a good point. We got screwed. I had forgotten.  Either way their rise to a first bowl win is pretty impressive.

Congrats to FAU.  Memphis is but a shell of the team we played, reflecting C-DOA, as a whole.

...

It's always good to have a team we beat win a bowl game

I thought he looked like Capt. Kangaroo.  Nice victory for FAU.

it is kind of amazing how they act like this entire method of building a program is all Howards and fail to mention one thing about USF. WHy it's a blueprint on how to do it---- except the plans were basically CJLs that Howard literally came over and borrowed.

Bob Davie-- go suck his BLEEP already

The final BCS rankings are in.  We were #21.  There is no post-bowl BCS.

I will be rooting for the Owls tonight against Memphis.

Every little bit helps our SOS for that final BCS standing ....

I didn't realize that .....

What Howard did with Miami and Louisville, and now trying to do with FAU, proves that what CJL is trying to do with USF is possible.

Honestly, to me, what CJL has done with USF proves that what Schnelly is trying to with FAU is possible ...

Schnelly's previous work at UL and UM helped give Leavitt a blueprint for building a program.

UL and UM both had a history and jock straps before Howard got there. CJL may have looked to what he did at UM as far as the TEAM was concerned, but for building a program, from the bottom up, CJL was winging it .... and did a **** fine job.

I think FAU could win CUSA. I'm really impressed with what they've done this season and that all started with the game against USF.

some FAU fans might say it all started with the win versus Minnesota.

Many have said that UCF got their momentum either from the close loss to Texas or the beatdown from USF

wierd how these two teams mirror each other in that regard.

Trip I have to disagrre somewhat. Schelly built those progrms at a time when scholarship numbers were unregulated/high, when only big programs got on tv, when pollster legitmately would put 3 loss Michigan ahead of a 1 loss small school.

USF would not have climbed the way we did the last 10 years back then the system didn't favor small schools.

While he didn't build from scratch there wasn't that surplus of talent because in the early 80s there were no caps on schoolys, there ws no ESPN to try and get your players national recognition.

Schnelly might have used some of CJLs tactics, but I'm not going to discount what the guy has done at all three of his college stops

with all the kudos they have gotten-- the one that sticks in my craw (whatever a craw is) is "they are playing in their first bowl game in only their seventh season. That's a record" or whatever

Had we gotten a bowl game in 2002 that we should have-- we would have done the same feat in only 6 years.

thanks again CUSA

But, you didn't, & "If I, coulda, shoulda, woulda" doesn't count.
