Oh Look ......Mike Ford Can Run the Ball

He busted some nice runs, got into the endzone easily.  They bite on the option fake to Ford and then Grothe runs it for huge yardage (with I believe a block from Ford).  Also on the runs that were blown up he still got 2 yards out of them.

the problem is our offensive philosphy:  it is a run option, which means matt has the OPTION of giving it to ford or not.  good to see that matt has confidence in his running abilities, but he needs to learn that he HAS to give the ball to the RB's more in order for everything to work.

Ah I love seeing Ford consistently get 4 yards on 1st down.  Much better than 2nd and 10.

Ford picking up 4 and 5 yards every run is opening a lot of other plays.  The Mitchell TD was a result of the fake.  A couple of other plays have opened up because we have established the run.  Funny how that works.  Can't get too excited though.  it's still Syracuse so we should be looking good.

Agreed.  It is nice to actually see it implemented though.  Also we are seeing some roll out pass plays too.

the more players we incorporate into the play calling, the more the opposing D has to open up and spread out... keep it up and keep feeding ford!
