Mike Ford was starting against West Virginia if I remember right. He broke a big run on the first play offensively for us. Than on the second play, he followed that up with a clutch fumble. Which is probably why we didn't see a lot of him after that in that game.

That is such bullcrap.  Ben Williams and/or Taylor also fumbled in that game, too.  Grothe fumbles and threw 4 interceptions against Cincy.  Taylor fumbled once against Cincy and didn't play again, so I'm not saying the coaches might not be taking that into account, but if they are it's ridiculous.  Players are going to make mistakes.  Ray Rice tried to give us the game by fumbling in his own territory and yet he still got the ball the next possession.  Every running back on our team has fumbled, so it's time to stop using that as an excuse.

Don't forget that Syracuse's run defense is horrible.

For all those claiming that anyone can run on Cuse: after Ford was out and Plancher/whoever went in (2nd Half) there was absolutely no running game. So even though Cuse has a horrible run D, when anyone other than Ford ran today (excluding Grothe) they did not do well.

not a valid argument.  We had o-line injuries about that time and subsequent line movement and substitutions.

We didnt run too well against Syracuse last year, either.  Mike Ford is a great back.

I expect him to start against Louisville.... another god forsaken defense.
