Guest JulmisteForPrez
Yep.....big money. No doubt about it.You know, there were plenty of folks who said the same thing about starting a football program.Too expensive. How is USF doing with getting that football program started?Very few people said "too expensive"... HOWEVERWhen it was approved, the policy was... "Do it right or don't do it at all."Some said "too expensive," others said "wait longer," others said this or that.Point is, they got the ball rolling, and look what happened. Why should this be any different? Guest JulmisteForPrez
Putting MAB on "Ignore" was a wise decision.I think he is ignored more than anyone else; that is amazing considering that includes knight fan, KL, Mav and smazza. That is like being the most ruthless dictator in the world or Valedictorian of reform school.Well, here is the latest tally:Smazza - 7MAB - 6K_F - 1KL - 1Mav - 0 I'm pretty sure he will rise to the top of that list by Sunday.Sunday?? I'm shooting for before midnight!

U of Richmond Virginia State Randolph-Macon Virginia Union U I've probably left a couple out. They all have OCS. And since you mentioned it, VCU had a club team for about 3-4 years in the '70', during which time they played some crazy teams (penitentaires, etc.). Very interesting story I read about a month or two ago. Their president thinks football would be too expensive. Hmmmmmm........

I do feel that moving from RayJay to an OCS that is full of lower-budget options is clearly not favorable. I hate college stadiums without Jumbotrons and such. It will be time before enough money can be saved up to even begin designing an OCS... consider that it would be close to the amount of USF's endowment, including research grants, to build a football stadium. But, like I said, just give me some time... I'm going to hit the lottery and then make a killing in the stock market with my winnings. If all goes to plan, I'll be dedicating Jim Leavitt Field before he retires as our coach! ;-)

Yeah, that $5 million to get it started was huge (even back then)! The Rutgers renovation was what? $116+ million? But you're unfocused again...it's not money, it's need. There is not a perceived need by the people that count. It'd be nice, but it just is not necessary at this point. You know, this thread has the chemistry to top the one with the former kicker's crazy mother. Not typecasting or anything, just saying...
