Y’all excited about a juco player while our conference mates keep getting stronger. I get that CAAR did amazing last year. But this year every team is gonna be out to beat us. And we really haven’t upgraded any aspect of the team while the other teams have. If you say the juco transfer and the fsu transfer are upgrades then I don’t know what to tell you.

You’re seriously using him as an example of our conference mates are getting “stronger”? Good stuff.

They lose an NBA-caliber player and add a guy that averaged 4 points per game on an awful Louisville team (8-24) last year and you think this is an upgrade? Really? FAU’s blip of success is over, just like FGCU’s Dunk City a few years back. It left with Dusty May.

Similar to Green we signed from FSU, he averaged 4.5 points a game.
I think Green is better the Pryor on the inside though.

I couldn't agree more.  It was a bad example.  I would argue that Memphis has improved (on paper) and UAB will be a handful, but I think USF has done very well.  The other teams in the conference have mostly lost their top players to the portal without replacing them.

The point to me is that I would take CAAR over any coach in the AAC. USF will be fine.

I would agree, but the point he was trying to make is that we've added nothing while our conference mates are loading up. Hardly. Maybe Memphis, but I'll never really fear them as long as Penny is coaching them. They'll always be up and down, inconsistent.

At this point Memphis is the only school in the AAC that has the financial means to potentially keep good players long term.  Memphis still isn't that great either, even with more money.  The AAC is starting to look like a real mid-major conference now, a true two bid max league.  That is ok, but we better figure out how to peak at tourny time.

Yes, I much prefer the player we picked up from Cincy
