Good article, but I question the $7 number.

$214,795
Our back-of-the-envelope calculation on how much more basketball revenue the Bulls have gained through improved attendance. We get that number by adding last season’s reported figures for ticket sales and novelty/parking/concessions and dividing it by the total attendance. That equals $7 per fan. Multiply that by the overall increase in attendance (30,685 fans), and you get our good-faith guesstimate.

I think tickets were more per fan overall this year counting the price for tickets for the later games.

I was easily $40 per fan out of pocket for 3 seats, snacks and drinks. Maybe they’re basing this calculation on net revenue?

Early morning brain fog. USF made $7 per ticket... Coffee has kicked in.

GO BULLS!

I'm fine with the calculations. Students don't pay so much of the added attendance didn't add revenue for a ticket. I remember going to a Reno Aces game many years ago with the guy that was president of Minor League Baseball. Sat with the owner or president and remember him talking about how much the average fan will spend once inside the park. Getting the people in was more important than the price they paid to get in.

In one game I think I spent close to $60 on beer alone. Plus $70 for two tickets.

I'd say that's an aggressively conservative figure.

Hoping the stock keeps rising and doesn't split.
