Would it have made a difference? You're only as good as the system that you're in.

Quick, name the most successful USF qb to be drafted. Mike White, who was kicked out of town and replaced by Quinton Flowers, is the most USF qb alum in the NFL.

What does making a difference at USF have to do with the NFL??

The point is that, if Mike White had stayed here under Taggart, he probably would have never taken a snap in the NFL. In other words, wishing that Penix had chosen USF does not necessarily mean that he would be doing as well as he is doing at his current school.

White made a difference at USF by leaving and putting up better numbers elsewhere. Because of that, he is the only USF qb in its history to have a career as an NFL qb.

Man this kid might be the Heisman this year.Just crazy I was reading a story about him since he went to my high school. His Dad really wanted him to go to USF, but he choose IU because he wanted a bigger spot light and his mom agreed.I think we need to move up to a power five Conference to attract the really good guys in the area or we need a super recruiter like Deion.

It took him 4 underachieving years at Indiana to reach that point.

Let's extend this penix thread beyond the competitors like the Realignment thread.

Also, I must admit I didn't read the article or even know who this is, but let's go!

What's a little head scratching about his decision to not stay home at USF is that it was supposedly to get more exposure ..... yet he decommitted from Tennessee to go to Indiana.
