Men's basketball picked to finish 9th in conference. Ain't happening!

My bold predictions for the Bulls this year:

1. They will win at least 20 games.

2. They will finish in the top 3 in the conference.

3. They will upset FAU.

4. They will either go to the big dance or the NIT.

Why predicting an FAU upset? We match up well with them. They return their 5 starters, which include a tall center with 4 smaller starters (6'0", 6'2", 6'3", and 6'4"). Those 4 players are excellent shooters; however, this new Bulls squad has the shooters to match them. I think the edge we will have is the height. My prediction for starters:

Jose Placer: 6'1"

Chris Youngblood: 6'4"

Kasean Pryor: 6'10"

Gerald Jones: 6'10"

Brandon Stroud: 6'6"

When was the last time that we had a starting backcourt with career numbers this good? For sure, not in the last 6 years. This alone makes a huge difference, especially when you lose a lot of close games.

Youngblood: FT% = 81.7; 3P% = 38.7; FG% = 44.9

Placer: FT% = 80.1; 3P% = 35.6; FG% = 44.4

The AAC is a pretty crappy league now...I think 9th place would be a solid season for this group.  We have a lot of low major players playing in a true mid major league.  We will see what this coach can do.

But how will those numbers hold up against the Indian burial ground?

They won't. These guys will shoot career lows from the line.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
