When was the last time that we had a starting backcourt with career numbers this good? For sure, not in the last 6 years. This alone makes a huge difference, especially when you lose a lot of close games.

Youngblood: FT% = 81.7; 3P% = 38.7; FG% = 44.9

Placer: FT% = 80.1; 3P% = 35.6; FG% = 44.4

None of those shots were made in the YC. Those numbers will be 5-7 percentage points less this year. It's how we roll.

Edit - sorry, didn't read the other posts following this before responding.

I believe there is no such thing as curses. There are either good teams or bad teams; good coaching hires or bad coaching hires.

The woman's basketball team  has found great success, so i don't see why the men's team can't do the same. If we fail it will be because we hired a bad coach and not because of an Indian burial ground.

A bit like football, I am expecting improvement compared to last year in year 1, and at least a NIT bid by next year.

Great point.  Wouldn't a curse affect all teams playing in the YC?

Not if the curse is only on the USF men's basketball team. 🤔😁

I think you hit the nail on the head. Bad coaching was the "curse."

I just want to see high IQ basketball across the team and solid shooting for once.
