The biggest problem that I've noticed for the average Tampa Football fan is the date of the bowl. Many of the people I've tried to convince to support the Bulls in Charlotte say they would if the game wasn't scheduled on New Year's eve. What do you guys think?

I think it's a weak excuse. As I put on another thread ... this is the best oppotunity. Holiday and the game is mid-day ... easiest way to "get a way". And New Year's Eve is for a party, why hang locally when you can see your BULLS and be in a fun city.

Unfortunately for me, I'll have to miss the Bulls first ever bowl game because I'll be in South America, which is a trip that has been in the works for over 6 months.

What part of S.A. ?

Felllas...we are what we are.  And there won't be 12K Bulls fans in Charlotte bright and early the morning of December 31st.

how many people in tampa have no idea that USF is even in d-1 let alone going to a BOWL Game on New Years Eve!!!

How many? My guess would be that it's the exact same number of people who DON'T WANT TO KNOW.  Face it...if you're not interested in the program, you're not interested. End of story.

We have about 15K season tickets. Which means that if we have 30K show up at RayJ...almost half ARE GAME DAY WALKUPS. Those folks are not going to pack up the car and head to Charlotte. They go RayJ because it is a convenient and cheap bit of entertainment on Saturday night. Don't think so? Well...look at what happens to attendance when the games ARE NOT ON SATURDAY NIGHT.

The fact that we've got close to 5K is pretty amazing to me.

The numbers sold are what the optomist(sp?) would assume.

Feel we'll have a "good" showing ... a "great" showing for a team in their 9th year.

I don't understand where in the times the Bowl director said he hoped usf would sell between 10,000- 12,500..   Is this the same guy who wanted uconn and there 5,000 fans?  Hey buddy do not talk smack, we would have been home if conn beat lville and you would have wanted there 5000..

Screw the Bucs!!

Screw the Cowboys!!   ;)

It would be interesting to know how many have both Bucs and Bulls season tickets and where they'll be that weekend. I know where I'll be but I'm sure I'm in the minority .....

As Wooly said, we are what we are. It takes time to build up a fan base and "we've only just begun" - Karen Carpenter.......
