Coach Golesh isn’t known for backing down, which is a good thing because he inherited a program mired in losing.

Love that!  Someone with a lot of energy and fight can turn things around.

Ok I’m gonna have to keep posting this until USF starts winning.

Get over it. It’s boring, irrelevant, irritating, and useless.

I did see some of it a few big hits were happening from the secondary haven't seen that in along time.

Didn't like the loss but I can see some good things now we wait to see if they get better.

The secondary was also all over those receivers at stretches of the game.  Last year everyone would have been out of position and getting torched constantly.  Hopefully that's a good sign.

This is true.  Defense definitely looked better than it has in years and that was vs one of the best qb we will see this year.  Reed is a stud.

Had to just listen to parts of game and I think Sam alluding to them showing some of the vintage toughness ....

I saw more corners glued to receivers than I think I saw total in the last 3 seasons yesterday.  Guys were flying to the ball and I saw much better tackling. It’s a start.  I am not a moral victory guy, but the D showed promise.

Golesh is determined to USF into a winning program.

I think he has definitely got the program turning around from what it's been the past few years.

As to toughness, you could hear the tackles Saturday.  Not as much arm-tackling, a lot of launching into guys and sending a message on D.

Haven't seen better than that in years.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
