Just now, Brad said:

"There's real and there's fake … and Coach Golesh is real,'' Bulls linebacker D.J. Gordon said. "He's actions, not words.

I think we will not know if he is a "real" coach for at least halfway through the season. I am glad the players are buying it, but we have seen this dance before.

We've heard this about him since day 1.

I anticipate it very quickly translates to wins

I prefer to work smarter, not harder.

Both are required to be the best you can be.

I had an opportunity to observe CAG at yesterday’s practice. He’s an active, intense, in-your-face type of leader. Heard him drop quire a few f-bombs, and was quick to get in a player’s face when they did something wrong.  He would have been a good drill sergeant…

I didn’t see the same leadership style from CJS. There was some USF Athletics booster event a couple of years ago at the Pepin ballroom.  CJS spoke/rambled on for 45 minutes about stuff - he lost me.  If that is how he talked to his players, then he probably lost them also.  Not a knock on CJS; I heard from athletics staff that he did everything right - except win.

I have no idea if CAG’s leadership style will translate into wins, but I like what I saw yesterday, and something had to change.  Hoping for better days ahead!

Very wise observation and supposition.  I think it’s very true and something coaches, especially the long-winded, need to guard against.

Sort of reminds me of a former coach we had that did well here.

Really looking forward to this season.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.
