Isnt it nice to have new rivals?

After year 1 in our new conference, I'm so excited for the years to come. If for no other reason than the fact that it is WAY more fun to hate West Virginia than it is to hate UAB.

Besides the obvious - Louisville - I really think that UCONN and WV are gonna be our most heated rivalries.

Your thoughts?

I hate Pitt!! Those **** Panthers have beaten us two years straight. That first win we had over them was a long time ago.... I don't hate L-ville since we need them to do well, that also includes WVU.

Pitt wouldn't let us be a rival. But they'll just have to deal ;-)

Louisville is going to beat the tar out of us next year after we destroyed their season; the only other loss they had was to WVU (by 2 points). That's the same thing that lit our butts on fire, the loss we suffered to them the year before.

UConn bites too much to be a good rival, even though we bit more this year (lol).

Syracuse.... HAH.

WVU - they'll consider us flies to be swatted for the next few years - it'll be a rivarly when we can rival their skills.

Cincy - too weak to be a good rival.

Rutgers - just don't see a huge rivarly there.

UCF...... HAH. No actually they'll just make a good local story rival, like FAU-FIU.

I vote for 1) Louisville 2) Pitt 3) WVU in the future

I think we have to beat them. Make the series 2-2, and then things will get interesting.

Is Brohm a senior?

I think it's natural. Both "upstart" programs. Both fighting for national credibility. They stole a game from us that we NEEDED. Didnt the old Rocky kick the Husky's ass when they came to Tampa???

Syracuse.... HAH.

in time....

I agree, but I think it'll be sooner than you think.

Cincy - too weak to be a good rival.

I wanna hate them, I really do!

Rutgers - just don't see a huge rivarly there.

THEY HAVE A BILLBOARD ON I-4 NEXT TO THE CASINO.

SCREW THEM!

UCF...... HAH. No actually they'll just make a good local story rival, like FAU-FIU.

Now that they know what it feels like to not go 0-11, this rivalry is gonna get NASTY. :)

I hate Louisville and many of their fans.  I like WVU fans.  I'd consider WVU more of the friendly rivalry, while Loserville will be the blood rivalry.

I think the limited number of games we have played against any team limits a label of "rivals."

However, we wrecked Louisville's season, so maybe they'll start seeing us as rivals.

face it guys...UCF is our rival.  we have a step ahead of them by being in the big east but we will battle for every recruit that UM, FSU, and UF dont roll out the red carpet for

You're kidding right? We MAY "battle" UCF for a recruit or 2, but that is about it. I think you can see by the early verbal commitments that we have that it is evident we have moved more than a step ahead in recruiting with them.

Yes, it was a nice crowd and a great atmosphere, but so were the games with FAMU and with WVU. Point is that doesn't precipitate a rivalry. We have more of a rivalry with Louisville. It's not much of one now, but it will get big with each successive season that we play them. We're not even sure that UCF is on each schedule beyond 2006. Bottom line is that rivals play every season.
