Wow from 100th ranked offense and bad for years to number 9...now that's some good coaching.

Heupel ran a great offense at ucf. All we can do is hope Golesh learned a lot and is ready to mold usf football into a winner.

Hopefully his offensive included the game plan score more than the other team. We got away from the that in the past several years.

The idea isn't pass happy, its to force the defense to leave a weakness each time that will be obvious to the QB by the time he's snapping the ball. Need a QB with a strong arm because the receivers route's will be so far away from the line of scrimmage regardless of if they are going deep or not.

Exactly. Often times people think it's a pass heavy offense but that perception might just come from the wide open bombs that are set up by lots of running plays and spreading the field.

Tennessee ran a lot with the qb when he spread the coverage out and had space to take off. I expect the same and some quick handoffs to running backs before the defense sets.

All the talk on the Tennessee offense that I saw last year and in interviews was rapid play with receivers open in short yardage.  Going through progression, Hooker usually delivered the ball to an open receiver in space.  Seldom did he have to throw hail marys, jump balls and prayers.

If the pass was not there he had no issue talking off in open space.

From what I read, a lot of it also had to do with receivers in space reading the defender and making their move based on that. If they got to the corner and he was flat-footed, they'd go deep. If he's already turning his hips, they turn left/right or hook back. And a lot of it was made easier by spreading the defense out so much that they had to show their hand before the play, so the QB had a pretty good idea who was going to be open before the snap

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
