Was thinking the same thing, maybe but not sure. Olympic record is 2.39m. Beckford won with 2.27m, missing 3 tries at 2.30m but won because other guy at 2.27 had more misses.

I actually just looked it up too, i think that’s about 5 inches it certainly seems in the realm of possibility what would be around 8 ft (not as much when you are within 5 inches of 8 inches). Also that guy was almost 29 so it seems like you can keep training yourself higher long past college.

Definitely in the realm of possibility...  Here is the Top 5 from the 2020 US Olympic Qualifying.

Men’s High Jump
1. JuVaughn Harrison — 2.33 meters

Congrats to Mr. Beckford.  This is one sporting event where USF "flops" have not seemed to hurt us over the years.

Someone help me out here - but isn't Erik Jenkins VPoAMK's first coaching hire? Also wasn't our track team the worst in the AAC before he was hired? 4 years later and we have a national champion -
