Ours appears to be the coolest mascot but I see a lifelike human Bobby Knight in there.

"Achieving AAU status creates a waterfall effect for USF. Increasing the research portfolio attracts top-caliber faculty and labels existing faculty as experts in their fields. That creates exciting new opportunities for high-performing students, which builds our workforce pipeline. It's a huge win for everyone in our area."

How do we stack up against FSU now? I’ve believe for a long time they are overrated academically and now we are both AAU and preeminent. When will USF pass FSU in public perception?

FSU is not AAU. As for passing them in academic public perception that probably wouldn't happen unless we pass them in the US news rankings as a top 25 public university. Those rankings are flawed but a lot of kids use them when applying for schools

Honestly, the more I read the more I feel that I'm more excited about this than I would be about a Big 12 invite ....... not saying I wouldn't take it but, and this is kind of a weird analogy, this feels more like joining Augusta National as opposed to Bushwood.

You mean you don’t want to rub elbows with these guys.  How snobby of you.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
