SF quarterbacks coach Joel Gordon said in a Thursday press conference the search for a starter is an ongoing process of evaluation.

It’s one that will take longer than spring practices.

Junior quarterback Gerry Bohanon, freshman quarterback Byrum Brown and redshirt freshman Bryce Archie have all had their names float around in conversations regarding that starting position.

2nd year freshmen  and 6th year junior battle it out for starting role. I'm going with the guy with the moxie and stats to back it up. Brown is the guy to win the job from. We can't have another season of quarterback musical chairs. I think GB is a great guy to have mentor tbe young guys and come off the bench when needed. I would like to see the Archie guy more to know he is good enough to be the number 2. Statistical GB performed worse than Marsh or Brown last year. He had lower competition percentage and worst td/int ratio. Brown also 21 passes straight something that is pretty **** impressive.

Again 57% competition percentage to 72%  percentage is now even close. The TD ratio to int ratio is much higher, the average yard per catch is higher, and the film shows his throws were better last year. It is a new year and new coach but nothing GB showed last year as a 23 year old 5th year QB showed that he is going to light it up. BB has much more room to grow and already seems to have a better floor than GB. Stats and facts don't care about your feeling or opinions. The fact you want to downvote it is laughable.   It is not even a close  that Bb outperformed GB. Gb had the worse passing stats out  of all three qbs.

Ummmmmm, if he had 21 straight completions (if that was the number, I know it was close to that), then the rest of his stat line would've been 15 for 29, which is a little over 50 percent (not great, but considerably better than the 35 percent rate you just through out).

Consider his stat line for his first two in-game appearances were 0-2 and 2-3. So the two games he was the starter he was 34-45. I know you're just trying to give Outlaw s---, but the math was wrong and you can toss his first two appearances IMO

7tds and 2 interceptions is much better than 6 tds and 6 interceptions. The yards per attempt per attempt are higher and Brown did this without our best receiver Weaver.  No category favors GB in any.other category other than he is older by 4 years.

The amazing thing is that about this time last year (May ‘22), some on here were arguing about how GB was going to light it up at USF, such that he would be in the NFL this coming season

Now we are debating whether or not he can beat out a RS freshman and a transfer - times do change
