I lived off Gumby's Pizza when I was a student.

I miss the food from when I lived in Tampa. I heard some of these places are closed now

1) Boston Grill on Fowler  (some of the best philly cheese steaks I have ever had including the ones in Philadelphia)

2) Tia's Tex Mex ( botanas platter was so good)

3) Crazy buffet on Dale Mabry ( sushi buffet,... peking duck).

4) Pho Quyen on Dale Mabry

Also miss the Caribbean food ( curried goat, plantains, rice and beans was my go to meal)

Tampa is a great place for food

Gumby’s pizza had something called a stoner pie. It was a cheese pizza topped with fries, mozzarella sticks, and I believe chicken strips?

Never heard of that one.

I could knock out a large cheese pie in 1 shot after hockey practice with ease.

I went to CDB's before I enrolled at USF.  Once accepted at USF and UF, CDB's was the deciding factor.

I was a waiter then manager of CDB's while in college.

Gumby's was my first ever meal at USF when I arrived a week before class for orientation.  They have one here in Raleigh, and I get one from time to time for nostalgia.

I may be the opposite.  My graduation present to myself was to split a large everything pizza with one of my fellow Oracle staffers.  It nearly crippled my then 6'2" 145-pound frame and set me on the path to being twice the man I was back then.

My wife was a hostess at CDB in 1978-79. Before your time?

Lol. My deciding factor between USF & UF was mainly due to USF adding football and location in Tampa Bay. Gainesville would of gotten too boring for me and probably would of partied too much due to boredom lol. Plus there was this chick that was friends with that helped convince me to pick USF over UF lol

Indeed.  The CDB Special pizza was truly unique as well.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
