Not good. I'm fine with former UCF coaches being hired, but not graduates. This is a red flag that Golesh doesn't seem to understand this.

This guy's not going to sabotage his coaching career because he graduated from a different school. He wants to succeed and look good.

I was skeptical until I heard he was promoted from GA to assistant oline coach at Tennessee. Being made an on field coach in the SEC within 5 years after playing is pretty impressive

This. GAs do all the grunt work. He will know exactly the way Golesh expects things done, and he will get them done. He has been conditioned to operate that way. His work ethic is probably through the roof. The fact that he had already been promoted at UT and then Golesh brought him along to coach for him at his first HC job speaks volumes. Golesh would not take that risk unless he believed he would be an asset. Plus, the fact that the OL coach will be in lockstep with the HC/OC when it comes to verbiage, formations, alignments, and assignments is critical. This is one less coach with a learning curve. I would bet that this kid is very good at what he does, and I am excited to see what he can do. Additionally, I think the fact that he is young and relatable will be helpful for recruiting this post-covid/NIL generation of players. This new climate in college football is going to burn out veteran coaches quickly. I talk to them on a daily basis. Coaches absolutely hate this transfer portal. Recruiting was already year-round, and now they have to recruit their current players that they are developing more than the high school prospects.

Your absolutely right. I don’t like UCF at all, but this guy has proven himself to CAG and has earned his trust, that means a lot!! This will help them hit the ground running.

Nailed it! We are talking about his career and how he makes his money. Playing for UCF means nothing to him now with his career started (though he may want to coach there some day, but it is not today). There have been former Ohio State players and coaches at Michigan that have done very well. These are professionals, not frat boys.

Some of our OL looks older than him.   Hope it works out.

He is going to torpedo a potential 40 year career by intentionally doing a crappy job now?  This isn't how anything works.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
