I am struggling to really form an opinion. I like the man, his story, his background, and his attitude. I am underwhelmed with the coaching staff he is putting together. It feels a bit like a mish-mosh of people Golesh knew from various places on his journey, and I think that three? of them are first-time-position-coaches. Everyone starts somewhere, but do we need OL, TE, and OLB coaches that have never been a coach before? That said, ultimately it doesn't matter what their experience is if they win on the field next fall. So I could complain and vent about "who are these guys?" or I can wait to see what our 2023 class looks like, what the spring game looks like, and how the team prepares for 2023. But so far . . . I'm still "not completely sold" on Golesh. Can't imagine anyone being "completely sold" on Golesh before he coaches a single game. It's all talk at this point and we've heard A LOT of jabber over the past half dozen years. It's time for results. I'm cautiously optimistic, but nothing with the staff hires or recruiting has made a splash at this point (although I do like bringing Kevin Patrick back into the fold!). Then again, maybe a splash isn't necessary. Maybe a workmanlike approach just serves this program better. Get us a bunch of guys - coaches and players - who want to be here and are willing to run through a wall to get things done. That's how it was built by Coach Leavitt and staff/players in the early days. Maybe that's just the formula that works here. We'll see.

Can you imagine this board and what's left of the fanbase having to deal with the fact that the administration was just going to continue into 2023 with the status quo (give him another year)? So in a way, this is a festivus miracle.
