I listened this morning and I think they were getting hassled by some listeners for not showing more love to USF despite us being in the toilet and a subject no one wants to talk about on the radio for more than 2-3 minutes.

Jay's a good egg and always has had the back of USF.  His new partner Zac is the one who leaked the Gruden theory the day after CJS was fired.

Think Jay is a USF alum. Zac is a UF guy but seems to say a lot of good things regarding USF

Pat from Pat and Aaron twittered out a bad take on the USF HC job last week. Even his co-host came back against him.

Let this serve as a microcosm surrounding USF athletics. So many transplants here with their “views.” Sucks. DAE has had some axe to grind for some time .

^ This. He went on Twitter and basically said Deion to USF would be stupid for Deion because why would he want to coach one of the worst college football programs. Fans called him out and he doubled down saying fans are just mad at him for him giving an honest assessment of the program. It was also pointed out to him that there are a ton of positive things going on with the University/Athletics/FB and he never apologized so he kept getting roasted. Not sure why Jay and Zac had to step in, nobody had an issue with them (other than Zac constantly being wrong about the FB coaching search lol).

They got roped in after the stuff with Pat because everybody who pounced on him pointed out that it doesn't seem WDAE is very bullish on the hometown team. They got themselves involved by trying to show that they've always been pro-USF.

One reason.  The upside is endless and turning around would be like the "Progressive  / name your price tool" for the next gig.
