Hahaha.  But seriously.  If Leavitt was hired instead of Scott, we would not have had attendance issues, we would have won more games, including against the mousketeers.  We would probably be back in a power conference.  If we would have hired leavitt instead of Strong, we would already be there.  If If If.

While I am on board with CJL, our attendance really only took off after we were in the BE, before that, attendance was like it is now.

Deion wants USF. USF wants Deion

When two parties want each other, they will come.  To the sports program.

Whether we hire Deion or not, this thread needs to go in the Hall of Fame. The photoshops are on the level of George O' Leary's resume. Wish that thread hadn't disappeared...

Bingo! It will be interesting to see if the new 12 team playoff format helps the attendance

I think tradition will help. UConn, Cincinnati, and UCF weren't exactly huge draws when we started playing them. But play a team 10 years in a row and the fans will start to show up to see them.

In 2018 we got 42k for UConn but just 34k for Georgia Tech. Consistently changing conferences is terrible for attendance

Thats my hope. Now that the CFP is possible in our current conference and if we get back to winning, I can see attendance coming back regardless of our coach. I think the AAC is the reason the QF era couldn’t generate high attendance, if CFP was possible back then, I think we would have been back to 50-60k regularly.

To me, the Leavitt hire for some of the older fans is nostalgia. He hasn't been a HC anywhere else after USF's first run in order to prove he can duplicate his success. When people are miserable, psychologically we revert to the last time we felt happiness and want to replicate that, even when it's not possible or reasonable (i.e. within an ex relationship). Although we know we can't or shouldn't go back to that former person for whatever reason, we romanticize that time and want it back. Leavitt is 12 years older than at the time of the end of his HC career at USF. Not saying he's old and brittle, I'm sure he still has some fire in him, but there's a reason most people tend to retire around his age. Some don't, of course. Some can do it until the day they die in their 80s. However, like I said, he never replicated again (not for a lack of desire to do so). We don't know if a 66 year old Jim is the same as a 50 year old Jim and if it would be the same. Would I be against that hire? No. Would I be for it if we could hire Deion instead? No. But as a last resort option, go for it!

Smokescreen from Deion's side. This is him telling us to either accept his demands or he's going to move on.
