You must not have followed CBG’s tenure here. He has the same identity as Stan ….

Really? I have seen no defense or controlling the clock. Other than coming from the same coaching tree we have not played the same.

It's a shame because basketball played the right way is a thing of beauty.

This X 100,000,000... You got that right.

He’s stressed defense first, like Stan, ever since he got here…… doesn’t mean it always translates to the play. Although, last night there appeared to be more get out and run showing up than past years.

He said he wanted to do that this year, so that's a good sign.

Yeah, to the previous point, the style of play is very similar in both teams and its obvious the HC is a defensive minded guy.   To be a great HC you have to be both.

I just don't see good team basketball. Where guys know how their teammates play. Great Rhythm and flow. Last night was disjointed. Out of control at times. Guys making good cuts and teammates not knowing to look for them or making a bad pass thinking they were going somewhere else.

the defensive rebounding was atrocious. No way that should have happened against that team. turnovers killed us. That being said maybe they will start to gel. They just need time to figure each other out.

But you can compare the men with the women's team who has 7 or 8 new players and they looked pretty together for a first game.  Coaching makes a difference.

Me counting the years since I last saw great men's basketball coaching at USF.

I dont think great is a word I would use for any USF basketball coach, but we had a couple decent ones.

Yes, sadly, that was sort of my point.  I've been watching this team for half a century with sadly few outstanding moments, other than I met my lovely bride at a game.  It's been a wonderful consolation prize.

BRING BACK TAGGART! That gulf coast offense on the hardwood floor would be lethal.

How about Gruden? He has been seen sitting courtside at basketball games. Maybe he could run Spider 2 Y Banana on the court…lol
