A spokesperson for the league said the email was "appalling, abhorrent and wholly contrary to the NFL’s values."

Tim Brown defended Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden and said he has heard him use 'rubber lips' in the past when talking about people lying

Wasn't racist in the least...

Gruden as HC, with Leavitt as DC.  Can you imagine the faces being made on the sidelines?

Does that really even matter? Like - it's ONLY bad because we found out?

Leavitt's baggage is far better than Gruden's.

I'm not going to get into defending him, but people have done and said much worse. Everyone should get a second chance.

I do believe they leaked all the Gruden stuff to try to distract everybody from the s--show that is Daniel Snyder's administration in Washington. The fact that the NFL said they looked through all the emails that they had access to and didn't find anything else that egregious is BS.

That said, he said the things he did and I don't know how well his hiring would play, either in the locker room or in the public.

Either way, I'm not sold on the idea of Gruden the college football head coach anyway, so it's whatever.

Jon Gruden looks like a seasoned mercenary who stays behind to hold back the monster so the rest of the group can get away, with his last words being “come and getJim Leavitt fired: Is the era of the coach-king over? - CSMonitor.com
