GAME DAY vs. Temple Owls

 

The Bulls will complete a swing of six of seven games away from Tampa with a second-straight road game at Temple Saturday. USF will look to snap a 16-game road losing streak that dates to a 45-20 victory at ECU on Oct. 28, 2019 by garnering their first-ever win in Philadelphia. The Bulls are 0-4 in previous trips to battle Temple, including a 37-28 loss in their first trip to Philly in 2012. USF lost a close 39-37 game in their last visit in 2020, a game the Bulls led 31-26 in the fourth quarter. USF is looking to end a nine-game AAC losing skid. The Bulls will have played one home game in 63 days when USF returns to Raymond James Stadium to face SMU on Nov. 12.

MARSH STRONG IN THIRD CAREER START: Quarterback Katravis Marsh made his third career start at Houston and posted a strong showing with season highs for USF of 275 passing yards, a 71% completion percentage (24-34) and 12 explosive plays for the offense. He tossed one touchdown and led an offense that did not commit a turnover while scoring on drives of 85, 76, 65, and 67 yards and posting 429 yards, the Bulls’ second-highest total on the season.

BATTIE EYES 1,000: Brian Battie posted his third 100-yard game of the season at Houston (106), giving him 599 rushing yards on the season (75 ypg) with five games to play. He needs 401 yards (80 ypg) to post the 10th 1,000-yard rushing season in program history and the first since Jordan Cronkrite ran for 1,121 yards in 2018.

WEAVER ON THE CHARTS: WR Xavier Weaver grabbed seven passes for 84 yards at Houston moving him into 5th on the USF career receving yardage charts (1,556) and 9th in career receptions (106). Weaver has 539 yards and a career-best 43 catches on the season and is on pace to match the USF season receptions record of 67 while needing just 122 yards to post his second top 10 receiving yardage season in program history. He is 580 yards shy of the USF career receivng yardage record of 2,136 set by Andre Davis (2011-14) and 47 catches shy of Davis’s record of 153. At his current clip (77 ypg/6.1 rpg) he is eight games from owning both USF career records.
