  1. Welcome to TheBullsPen.com's 2021 Football Prediction Contest Game 7 South Florida Bulls vs Temple Owls October 23, 2021 7:00 PM ESPN+ Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL Congratulations to our Game Six winner @Rich Mahoney ! The Contest: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to select the winner for the week's South Florida football game - as well as make some tie-breaking prognostications. Prizes await, as does the respect and admiration of Bulls fans worldwide. First...the rules: 1) You must be a registered member of this message board. 2) You must completely answer the contest questions. 3) Post must be submitted prior to published game start time. 4) There can be no modifications to your post after the published game start time. 5) Your prediction must be part of this original thread. For additional contest rules, please read the small print below. And now, the contest: For the Bulls game against the Owls, on Saturday, October 23, please select the following: 1) The winning team 2) The final score 3) Bulls leading rusher 4) Bulls leading receiver 5) Bulls total offensive yards (closest without going over) Please try to keep in the above format so that it will be easier to manage. Sample response would be: 1) South Florida 2) 80-3 3) Jaren Mangham 4) Jimmy Horn 5) 450 After posting your entry, please make your case for your picks, or predict other aspects of the game. It will make the thread much more entertaining if everyone gives their reasons for their picks, and make predictions on other aspects like special teams, rushing, or who to expect at Quarterback. Important: The winner will be decided with the first and second prediction items. I am looking for the person that comes closest to the actual score, not simply the margin of victory. If more than one person is correct, or equally close, we'll go to item three. Closest wins. If still tied, we go to item four - if still tied, item 5. After that, whoever gives the best reasoning, and pre-game analysis wins.* This week's prize : Tervis Made in USA Double Walled South Florida Bulls Insulated Tumbler Keeps Drinks Cold & Hot, 16oz Tervis tumblers feature double-wall insulated construction that keeps drinks hot or cold longer and reduces condensation to prevent rings on your table. 4. Bulls Face Temple for Second Straight Game February 23, 2021 Story Links Game Notes (PDF) Matchup: USF (8-8, 4-6) vs. Temple (4-10, 3-10) Date: Wednesday, Feb. 24 Time: 7 p.m. Location: Tampa, Fla. | Yuengling Center TV: ESPNU (John Schriffen, Brooke Weisbrod) Radio: Bulls Unlimited (Jim Lighthall, Joey Johnston) Follow: Listen | Watch | Live Stats | Twitter TAMPA, FLA., FEB. 23, 2021 ÔÇô The USF men's basketball team returns to Tampa for its final home game during the month of February when the Bulls host Temple Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Yuengling Center. USF and Temple met three days ago when the two teams battled on Sunday in Philadelphia due to schedule changes resulting from COVID-19 protocols within other programs throughout the league. Junior guard Xavier Castaneda (Chicago, Ill.) scored a career-high 18 points and added three rebounds and three assists to lead USF to an 83-76 victory. Senior David Collins (Youngstown, Ohio) added 14 points, four assists and two steals to help the Bulls win for the second straight time at Liacouras Center. Collins enters the week leading USF with 12.6 points per game and needs just seven points to move into seventh place on the USF all-time scoring list. USF AND TEMPLE USF and Temple will meet on the hardwood for the 16th time in school history when the two teams battle on Wednesday. The Owls own an 11-4 lead in the all-time series that dates back to the 2011-12 season. USF won the first two games in the series before Temple won the next 11, but the Bulls snapped the losing streak last season with a 64-58 road victory behind 13 points and nine rebounds from Justin Brown. Michael Durr added 12 points and seven rebounds to help USF win in Philadelphia for the first time since 2014. In the most recent matchup on Sunday, USF turned in an 83-76 win over the Owls behind a career-high 18 points from Xavier Castaneda. The Bulls will be in search of their first ever win over Temple at home, as the Owls own a 6-0 career record against USF in Tampa. BACK-TO-BACK Due to cancellations and postponements caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the USF men's basketball team will face Temple in back-to-back games this week, having played in Philadelphia on Sunday before moving the series to Tampa for a matchup on Wednesday. It will be the first time that USF has played the same team in back-to-back games during the regular season since facing Charlotte in consecutive games in January during the 1982-83 season. The Bulls did play a three straight games against DePaul in the 2019 CBI finals, but those games were played in the postseason. HAVING THEIR NUMBER USF junior forward Alexis Yetna has enjoyed a great deal of success in his career against Temple. In fact, Yetna enters play Wednesday against the Owls averaging 14.7 points and 9.7 rebounds in three career games against Temple. In his first ever game against Temple, Yetna poured in 24 points and 10 rebounds in 2019 during a season that saw him win AAC Freshman of the Year. On Sunday, Yetna scored 12 points and had seven rebounds to help USF to an 83-76 victory. CLIMBING THE CHARTS USF senior guard Justin Brown played in his 117th career game for the Bulls on Sunday in a victory at Temple. Brown enters play Wednesday against the Owls ranked eighth all-time at USF in games played and will move into a tie for sixth place should he appear in the game. Should Brown play in every game remaining in the regular season and at least one conference tournament game, he will finish his career with 122 career games played and will rank third all-time at USF. Fellow senior David Collins has played in 110 career games and needs four more to move into the top 10. X-MAN USF junior guard Xavier Castaneda turned in his best game of the season Sunday at Temple with a career-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists. Castaneda has come on strong of late and enters play Wednesday against Temple averaging 11.3 points and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 44.4 percent from three-point range over the last three games. In addition, Castaneda has made all 10 of his free throw attempts during that stretch. COOKING FROM DEEP USF junior Rashun Williams has been on fire from three-point range and is shooting 45.5 percent from beyond the arc over the last four games. Williams has made five three-pointers during that stretch and if 5-for-11 from beyond the arc. Williams made only five treys in the previous 11 games and shot 23.8 percent from three-point range. KEEPING POSSESSION USF featured its second straight game with seven turnovers or less on Sunday in a win at Temple. The Bulls finished with just seven turnovers and forced the Owls into 17 miscues. The Bulls enters play Wednesday against Temple with a 14-28 edge in turnovers in its last two games. SEND US TO THE STRIPE USF shot 69.0 percent (20-for-29) from the free throw line Sunday at Temple to mark its fourth straight game of at least 68.0 percent from the charity stripe. The Bulls have struggled from the free throw line most of the season, but enter play Wednesday against Temple shooting 71.9 percent from the free throw line over the last four games. THIRTY TWO IS TRUE The USF men's basketball team went 32 days in between games due to Covid-19 protocols within the program. The Bulls played their 12th game of the year Jan. 9 at East Carolina and turned in a 69-63 victory over the Pirates. It wouldn't be until Feb. 10 that USF would resume games with a matchup against No. 7 Houston at the Yuengling Center. During the layoff, the Bulls had seven consecutive games postponed and only had two full practices that included all 13 players.

  7. Bulls Go Back on Road Sunday at Temple February 20, 2021 Story Links Game Notes (PDF) Matchup: USF (7-8, 3-6) vs. Temple (4-9, 3-9) Date: Sunday, Feb. 21 Time: 2 p.m. Location: Philadelphia, Pa. | Liacouras Center TV: ESPN+ (Cody Chrusciel, Noah Savage) Radio: Bulls Unlimited (Jim Lighthall, Joey Johnston) Follow: Listen | Watch | Live Stats | Twitter TAMPA, FLA., FEB. 20, 2021 ÔÇô The USF men's basketball team plays its first of two straight games against Temple Sunday at 2 p.m. when the Bulls travel to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on the Owls at the Liacouras Center. USF and Temple will play again on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Tampa. USF will be playing its fourth game followings a 32-day layoff due to COVID-19 protocols within the program. Most recently, the Bulls dropped an 81-65 decision to rival UCF Wednesday in the second round of the War on I-4. Junior forward Alexis Yetna (Paris, France) scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for his third double-double of the season, while senior David Collins (Youngstown, Ohio) added 13 points to record his 80th career game in double figures. Overall, Collins leads USF with 12.5 points per game and Yetna is second with 10.0 points and first with 7.7 rebounds per game. USF AND TEMPLE USF and Temple will meet on the hardwood for the 15th time in school history when the two teams battle on Sunday. The Owls own an 11-3 lead in the all-time series that dates back to the 2011-12 season. USF won the first two games in the series before Temple won the 11, but the Bulls snapped the losing streak last season with a 64-58 road victory behind 13 points and nine rebounds from Justin Brown. Michael Durr added 12 points and seven rebounds to help USF win in Philadelphia for the first time since 2014. HAVING THEIR NUMBER USF junior forward Alexis Yetna has enjoyed a great deal of success in his career against Temple. In fact, Yetna enters play Sunday against the Owls averaging 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in two career games against Temple. In his last game at the Licouras Center, Yetna poured in 24 points and 10 rebounds in 2019 during a season that saw him win AAC Freshman of the Year. TWO MORE TO GO USF picked up its second league road win of the year Jan. 9 when the Bulls turned in a 69-63 victory over East Carolina. The Bulls enter play Sunday at Temple needing two more road wins to register the most road wins in conference play since joining The American prior to the 2013-14 season. The Bulls have won three AAC road games in three different seasons. SEND US TO THE STRIPE USF shot 76.9 percent (20-for-26) from the free throw line to mark its second straight game over 75 percent from the charity stripe. The Bulls have struggles from the free throw line most of the season, but enter play Sunday at Temple shooting 73.3 percent from the free throw line over the last three games. LONG RANGE LOCKDOWN USF has proven to have one of the top perimeter defenses in the NCAA this season and enters play Sunday at Temple ranked 42nd in the NCAA and fourth in The American in three-point field goal defense by limiting opponents to just 30.5 percent from beyond the arc. The Bulls have held seven of their opponents to less than 30.0 percent from down town this season. If the season ended today, the .305 three-point field goal percentage defense would be the fourth-lowest allowed for a single season in school history. The 1994-95 squad held opponents to 24.9 percent and holds the school record.

Bulls fans and other fans in the ├óÔéČ┼ôAmerican├óÔéČ┬Ł are invited to post on each of the teams to include information on the university, its athletic programs (especially football this time of year), what to do in town for a road game, etc. Or, in some cases, reminisce about previous match-ups or times spent together in a previous conference. The intent is to build fun and informative threads that help us get coached up on new conference mates. Please reserve the impulse to mud sling for other threads as the season nears. Everyone is invited to contribute. If you know a fan of one of the other AAC schools, please invite them. Thanks, Brad, aka Bulliever
