That may be true but in the early years he did a lot of fundraising. I remember some hokey effort to bring in more donors, it was like a salesman recruiting seminar and I thought “why is the head coach doing this?”   But he cared. 
 

And yeah, no to being an AD.

I don’t know but the landscape of winning in college football is money and lots of it. We don’t have nearly enough. Rutgers is 10s of millions in debt and the big ten money is nowhere to be found.  It’s a program that is a drain on taxpayers and they still suck.
