Why did our team leave last year? If I remember it was because of our assistant coach. That said, might not be the only reason. The key here is people leave for reasons just like people leave jobs. Doesn’t matter if they were slated to become a VP or maintain their role. Shifts occur and managers have to deal with it.

You may be right. I was thinking they left after Herrion was let go but, not surprisingly, I may have timeline wrong .... and still agree with your original premise that just because a player leaves, it's not always because he's been replaced by someone else and MBB has definitely been a perfect example of that for the two most recent regimes.

Sounds like May 1st is the deadline to enter the portal, and then after that the 1 year sit out transfer rules apply. Could be a lot of guys from all over the country entering the portal these next 2 weeks. Could be good to have these guys that couldn't see the field after 2-3 years transfer out so Scott can use those scholarships to go snag the equivalent player from an SEC school

Good News is that we didn't have any surprise departures.

A portal just opened in the street.  Should I be worried?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
