I guess we can't complain about the season anymore so might as well complain about the coach who hasn't coached a down yet.  I'm sure Venerables was considering us before taking the Oklahoma job....

not sure you can expect too much better for a DC coming to a 2-10 G5 team. Across 4 different schools so you know its not a fluke. And done at Vandy + Mississippi State so you know he can do it at a school where a lot of other teams on the schedule have more talent

Hired an OC from fsc and he sucked. Why would we hire a DC from fsc simply because he played at USF?

DV’s defense at Kennesaw state we’re good and he was highly thought of as an up and comer.

Well, Shoop has one thing going for him.  While it is true that he was not retained as the DC when Leach took over Mississippi St, I do not think that reflects negatively on him given that Leach over the years has shown he does not really care about the defense.
