They are probably also going to replace the grass on the south side of the practice field for when they laid the pipe (water/sewer) going back toward the LRS building.

I would assume that's the last place that the sod is placed. They still have a good deal of work to do there.

That has been one of my "look for" moments. I assumed that as soon as they started landscaping the heavy lifting was done. NEXT... How Do You Lay Artificial Turf Indoors?
1. Place Subfloor. Creating a solid subfloor for placement is the first step to building a turf field. ...
2. Plan Turf. Once the turf arrives, it needs to be unrolled to fall back into its original shape. ...
3. Adhere Turf. Next, apply the adhesive to the clean subfloor. ...
4. Add Turf Fill.

There is still a large opening for the vehicles on the East side, so I do not think it will be too difficult to pour the foundation and then then lay the turf down over it.

Obviously, the turf laying is a little time consuming, but it as you be as you alluded to in step 2.

My projections for completion are approximately 60 days as well.  I am somewhat of an expert on this type of installation.  I am not in construction but my kids school installed turf at their baseball stadium a couple years ago and I drove by it daily on my way to work.  The foundation takes a while, it has to be perfect.  It will be completed just in time for rainy season to end and the heat to break.

Seems to be since the view really doesn't change from the angle.
