RB Darrian Felix

DL Ryan Thaxton

Thaxton is one of those players that proves Trips point.  PLayer coming from a big school that could not hack it. Gets here and does the same. We are hoping for superstars but we are probably getting mostly duds.  Felix was just hurt so its hard to say.

Transfer once, I give the player the benefit of the doubt. Transfer twice, there's a common denominator.

I'm just hoping for players who are better at their position, either through talent or experience, than the ones we've had the last 2 years ...

I think there is waaaaaay more quality players transferring now than when players had to sit 1 year.  Not all transfer players are those who could not hack it. There are plenty of different scenarios. I think most of the transfers we got now, all had signs of promise and are still young. Nick Baggs transfer rating is higher than his high school rating. The other transfers we have now, had playing time and/or simply just had some awesome athletes in front of them. Many of these P5 teams hog up all of the good players. Now the talent is getting distributed across the all levels of CFB.

Pretty sure he was referring to the players transferring OUT of USF after transferring in ...... so hopefully the answer to your question is no.

I think looking at where those transferring out are ending up gives you an answer.

Just playing Devil's Advocate before someone else does ..... Texas State beat 4 FBS teams last year. 😎

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
