What more do we have to do to show the P5 we belong?

It's like it was written for us...that timeline is our wheelhouse.

It really is, it’s almost the same methodology I use when I pull random samples. Still it’s interesting to say we just need more money when no other program has been worse stewards of the money they did receive. At least now everyone is doing a wonderful job and if we just give a little more they promise the due factor will kick in this time.

This "dead money" issue with coaching contracts is beyond stupid. What's the incentive to work hard as a coach if you're guaranteed millions no matter what.

Why should any coach ever be guaranteed years of his salary if fired? Contract Buyouts are designed to retain successful coaches but that never works.

I can't think of a single time a contract buyout enabled a school to retain a good coach with better job offers but there are many horrible instances of schools on the hook for millions for firing deadbeat coaches. Good article.

I don't get it either. No idea why the buyout deal is a thing. Don't tell me its to lure experienced and proven coaches. I will tell you to F right off 😘

So you are saying we should have kept Charlie Strong?

Maybe they are saying we shouldn't have hire him in the first place just because UT was willing to underwrite his salary and deliver him gift-wrapped in their booster's private plane just to be rid of him.

Ah, memories:

Skip Holtz: $2.5 million
Holtz was fired after a 3-9 season in 2012 after receiving a contract extension five months earlier. He went 16-21 during his three-year tenure with the Bulls.

So we had a coach for free and we're still complaining?

You know I'm just messin' with this line of crap.
