Unless the ACC completely dissolves I don’t understand why UM would move to the Big 12 over just staying in the ACC. But what do I know.

I think the article is discussing what would happen if the ACC implodes.

Kneejerk reaction whenever a conference is vulnerable during realignment, everyone starts speculating and writing the obituary for it and finding theoretical homes for all the teams.

They did it for the Big 12 but they survived. They did it for the PAC 12 and they had multiple opportunities to live but fumbled it badly and actually died.

If you are vague enough on time frames and destinations you can never really be wrong and one day you may even get to say you were right.

Miami is banking on a winning 2024 season translating to making themselves more desirable to the 'Big Two' conferences.

Referring to that article...  I want to point out how stupid it would be if they made these decisions off of one season.  Also, we are going to win that game.

The contracts were already signed and I am sure the universties have iron clad lawyer's insuring their payments are guaranteed for the term of the GOR even if teams  leave the conference. I assume that is why conference buyouts are so high in power conferences.
