If it is between them for conference champ, just push our championship game to that weekend?

Agree! If Army/Navy is also playing for a conference championship, then that game will be even more special.   This retired soldier would like to see Army in the conference.  I’m just surprised to read about Army joining a conference, given that they have publicly stated their preference to be independent.

Here’s a question I haven’t seen discussed recently- assuming that Army joins the conference for football only,  does another team then join the conference for the other sports (similar to Navy/Wichita State)?  Had read a couple of years ago that VCU would be a candidate.

If nothing else, maybe we’ll get a few more pages in our drive to 4000!

Yea. That's never happening.

I'd say the odds of Army and Navy being the best 2 teams in the conference in any given year would be under 1%.

What are the odds usf of being the best team in the AAC? What happens to any teach that theorhetical be in the hunt for the conference championship game and the NAVY/ARMY game would determine which team or teams go.

IIRC, the fellas at Westpoint were not really happy with their tenure in CUSA. One reason being, relentlessly losing to that caliber of team. Note that Army does play some marquee games, but they also schedule - games they can win. The next generation of four-star generals doesn't want to be the Washington Generals of college football. You might BE them; you just don't want to be them. That's the odd thing about the service academies. They're not loved because of their athletic prowess, but because of what they represent (marketing something more than a t-shirt). So, we don't really rain down hard on them when they underperform - relative to the rest of FBSdom. It's not unexpected. Navy plays Notre Dame every year, and that tally is 82-13. Think they should cancel the series? Navy is about the only rival Army has, and Army is behind in the series 54 to 62. They are unique entities that happen to step into the spotlight once per year. So, although they may be a part of the AAC in the future, what they bring to the table is measured in something other than football wins. :iconic_u_black:

0-1 in FBS football and undefeated in conference play. Should we stop now so we can say we didn't lose a conference game or fafo what Golesh is all about.

Only if you're happy with him getting an 8 year extension.

If one fbs win in two seasons gets your two years then he would have to win 4 fbs games this year and we could almost go bowling. If the covid virus hysteria kicks in the may lower the amount of wins for a bowl game and USF could go bowling with 5 wins. I am a bowling or bust guy. Did you take a post game gummy after taking care of your wife? I had to pop one earlier after hockey and doing on the house chores to relax.
