I mean, that's true. But even $2-3M a year is 3-4x what they're making in CUSA. Would be 1, 2 years max before they'd make up the money. I guess it would depend on how reliant they were on that. Or if they did something like the AAC defectors did with their exit fees and negotiated a long payout period (or even just agreed to pay out annual out of their new media payout). If it came to it, I also wouldn't be terribly surprised to see most of CUSA agree to just dissolve and scatter amongst the new AAC, MAC, and Sun Belt. We already saw a few teams last year that decided they'd rather be in the Sun Belt.

Why don’t we start our own football league with the G5, but we have our own P2 with AAC and MWC and the Sun Belt can be the first out!

Nah, I'd vote we crush Conference USA first. The Sun Belt at least has entertaining teams.

I’m trying to share as I find. Hopefully these are just rumors

If true we are stuck in this ****** conference for a long time. Our only life raft was the Pac4. Oh well.

Stanford and Cal to the ACC was the obvious conclusion all along. The bright side is that some “sources” at least mentioned USF as an expansion candidate, and if we have some on the field success we will likely get the call up in the future. For now, I am rooting for FSU and Clemson to exit the ACC leaving Stanford and Cal in a crumbling cross country conference with a ridiculous GOR that they likely signed out of desperation and no media money.

Looked back to page 1. Kinda crazy that my son was about 6 months old when this thread started, he's in middle school now, and we're in this ****-sandwich conference still.

Even earlier before the birth of this thread, there were some discussions here alluding to the possibility of 4 - 16 team conferences.  I did find it odd and naive that some of our fans thought USF would be a shoe in for that.  If you look at all of the moves, almost all of the schools have either been in big time conferences before or had name brands which the average fan has known for years.  The only exception is that group of miscreants to the east which will remain unnamed.

How so?

Do you really think that Cal and Stanford would make FSU and Clemson change their minds about staying?
