Who knows it may impact realignment, it may not. It will impact the student experience which is what all college programs should be about. I think it will happen, and it may even happen soon. Harlan has a lot to fix, and I am sure this is on the to do list somewhere but if we want it done right we will need to let him do the proper planning and behind the scenes work. Plus we need time to get this thread to 1000

Students don't drive college sports.  Paying fans and donors drive it.  If the students wanted to go to the games, they would.  They seem to be able to make it to Ybor with no problem.

I'm all for an OCS, done right, but I am sure that, "student experience" is way down on the list of reasons to build it.

Did you go to the game at Camp Randal????

Did you go to the WVU @ USF game in 2007?

I did!  And I don't think I heard one student say, "You know what?  This would be soooo much better if we were in an OCS."

they should have :D

Yes I was there. It was awesome, however nothing like the craziness at Wisconson.

I was at both. I thought the atmosphere at the USF WV game was way better and more intense.

Don't get sidetracked, this part of the 400+ pages in this thread is about the student experience in an OCS vs non OCS. My point is the student section at the 80,000 fan Camp Randall IMO, is a better atmosphere game in and game out than at Ray Jay.

2007 vs. WVU - one of the best sports experiences ever.

Dare I liken it to a "hot dog" environment? :FIREdevil:

The jump thing is pretty cool, but...

Can you imagine the USF students being lined up outside RayJay, then right at kickoff they start escorting them in, single file, being shown which row they can sit in, and the last students getting in just before half time?

Oh, and a lot of them were gone half way thru the third quarter.

The OCS debate is moot. It will happen when there is money. If nobody else steps up, I hope to be successful enough to make the initial donation.

Also, I have not missed a bowl game nor an important away game since 2001. USF-WVU was hands-down the most exciting, electrifying, deafening experience of any USF IMO. It was louder than the 2011 Michigan-Notre Dame game and the Michigan State-Wisconsin game, among the many other games in bigger venues I've attended. That also, IMO, does not take from the argument in favor of an OCS.

That's funny about Wisconsin.  My wife and I both say that was the biggest crowd to make so little noise that we have ever seen.    The WVU game was so electric if you stuck your tongue out you would get shocked.  It is not an on campus stadium that makes a game.  It is the opponent and how much it means to the two teams.  We need to be in the SEC (if only we had started football another 50 yrs earlier)
