  1. Oh he will go pro, it is just a question of when. How many yards did Charlie Strong's running back at Texas have this year? It was over 2,000. I guess it's not all bad being a back in a Strong coached team. Go Bulls!
  2. Welcome East Texan. Live in the Rio Grande Valley myself Go Bulls!
  3. Then for you it is not hashtag but tater. TaterBullStrong Go Bulls!
  4. In the 30,000 population Texas town I live in, the school board spent over 7 million on high school stadium renovations. Go Bulls!
  5. Bad idea. You never want to establish a precedent by giving a refund for poor performance. Better to market the fun that a high scoring USF team with a defense provides. Fun. We must market FUN! Discounts are mainly used by grumpy penny pinchers (I use them all the time) Go Bulls!
  6. He needs to get some legal opinions regarding how much any new contract would affect his Texas pay out. If we offer a small amount like 500,000 UT might have grounds to say that was in bad faith and violated the termination agreement. Charlie Strong has a lot of money at stake and the last thing he wants to do is make a hasty decision and jeopardize that. If I had a guaranteed $11 million or so in the next two years I know that I would take my time. Go Bulls!
  7. Taggart was a game or two away from being fired at USF. The pendulum of his fortunes swung the other way and he now has managed to be financially set for the rest of his life. It could have easily ended badly for him, but he survived and prospered. We must persevere in our climb towards greatness and hopefully it will come sooner rather than later or not at all. Go Bulls!
  8. Those games were great, both in Tampa and in WV. We really need to get into the top tier of conferences again. Go Bulls!
  9. Neither did Grothe and the rest of the USF team! Go Bulls!
  10. From what I have seen, he basically gets his $5,000,000 from Texas plus 1/2 of what we would pay him (he would owe the other half to Texas). Go Bulls!
  11. from what I understand, his players loved him. Go Bulls!
  12. The problem is there will never be a G5 in the playoffs under that scenario. They will always make the same assumption that you have for Western Michigan. In most people's minds, a P5 team will always be superior to any G5 team with the same or close to the same record. Go Bulls!
  13. All you need to do is to take one look at some flowers film and you would have to be a dumber than a rock to change his play style. Go Bulls!
  14. I have been a season ticket holder from day 1, and I can't stand the thought of Schiano being the coach of my beloved Bulls team. I would even have to think twice about renewing my season tickets while he is our "leader" on and off the field. We have so many other choices that it would make absolutely no sense to hire him, or even interview him for that matter. Go Bulls!
  15. Never is too soon for that hire. Go Bulls!
  16. Taggart (imo) would not have left us if we were a P5 program. The way things stand now, if we find a hot young coach, he will be gone after a couple really good years. A retread like Strong has a chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove, so he would be a good fit, figuring that you will likely have him only for a few years unless we somehow get into the P5 group again. Kiffen I said no to originally, but maybe being under the discipline of Saban has caused him to grow up a bit. I don't know, but he would be gone once a P5 program comes calling. If we get an old coach looking for a place to play out his career, we risk the probability of him not being able to connect with the high school kids, who are the lifeblood of a college program. I guess in the end it all depends on the person. Coaches will come and go, but the one thing that will go on is USF. Go Bulls!
  17. I wish Navy was in the eastern division so we could play up there every other year. It was my wife's favorite road trip yet, even though we lost. What a great little town to visit. Go Bulls!
  18. It's all (well not all but very important) on the kids you can get to play for you. Coach Taggart can relate well with the recruits. I personally hope he stays and we build a dynasty here, but I think he has already won a place in Bulls history as one of the good ones. I don't think he would go if we were in the P5 unless the money was outlandishly huge, but true competitors always want to play for the championship, and I don't know if we will ever have a chance to do that in our current situation. Go Bulls!
  19. The way these schools are so liberal now, they probably found out he is a Trump voter. It looks like the school can probably save a bunch of cash if there is a reason for termination. Go Bulls!
  20. I was reading a story about the Oregon coaching search. One thing they mentioned was a declining attendance problem. UCF brags all the time about their attendance and if you saw any part of some of the games on espn3 this year, the stadium looked around half full - and that is with bleacher seats that let people spread out and take more room. There were even empty seats for Florida vs FSU. We should be doing much better than we are, but it isn't just our problem. Go Bulls!
  21. We aren't the only school to give a big extension and then fire the coach. This story is from January 2016. That's a bunch of money to be on the hook for. Go Bulls! After leading Indiana to its first bowl appearance since 2007, head coach Kevin Wilson has been rewarded with a raise and a six-year contract extension. The new deal, which runs through 2021, will pay Wilson $2.55 million per year. That's more than $1 million more than he made in the 2015 season, in which he guided the Hoosiers to a 6-7 finish and an overtime loss to Duke in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. That was Indiana's second bowl game since 1993.
  22. I would expect Allen to be named head coach there. Go Bulls!
  23. I am proud of Q and that he is a Bull. What tremendous hardships that kid has overcome in his life, including a bunch of negativity from this board. Congratulations Mr. Flowers, and I wish you the best for the rest of your career at USF and in life beyond college ball. Go Bulls!
