Not trying to be a downer but the lose aspect of that situation is that the Big XII may not want to be seen as the conference with the second tier Florida schools. FSU, Miami, and UF's successes make us look more inferior than we are.

So your saying "Second Tier" would be like them adding TCU?

We need to look at what we know?

Money is driving the train and it has ESPN written all over it.

We know we have 5 So called Power Conferences currently.   2 of them have a FLA presence( ACC and SEC), 2 Have a Texas  Presence I Believe (Big 12, SEC), and 1 has a California presence. (presence = teams from the state in the conference). Reason I bring this up is we know that most of the Top Recruiting comes from  Texas, Fla, and California(recruiting hotbed) and population centers( eyeballs on TV sets).

SEC and ACC are Not happening for USF( Not while UF, Miami , FSU) are in them.

That only leaves 3 options. (Pac 12 Is OUT OF THE QUESTION) Due to location, cost associated for travel and teams, ect..

That leaves the BIG 12 and Big 10.  (Big 10 is the ONLY major player without a team in one of the hotbeds for recruiting( they added Md and Rutgers to help with the Eyeballs on the North East(TV sets) and the recruiting from the area. Not many saw that happening when it was announced.

Is it really far fetched to think the Big 12 is the only option or best option for USF/ UCF combo?  Why wouldn't the Big 10 look to get into one of the Major Markets(Texas /Fla) to compete with the Mighty SEC?  Im sure they are tired of their yearly beat downs on New Years Day on National TV.  The Fla /Texas market is full of Big 10 transplants.  Big 10 has AAU status, but with Nebraska coming in without it, and the New day in Football (all about money) than I say Big 10 is an option for others.  (See MD and Rutgers)

Im not saying the Big 10 or Big 12 are an option currently,  but why is the Big 12 the only or  more likely than the Big 10?

Nebraska came in with it, then lost it.

Members had meetings to kick Nebraska out.

The B10 would love to take the Gators today, but they wouldn't take any other team in Florida until they achieve AAU status

Florida would never leave the SEC.

20 years ago, nobody knew the difference between Boise and Idaho.

Just win, baby

Balls aren't a state either. Unless you want to say, "Lately, our football team has been in a state of balls."
