Then this couldn't be blamed on USF, could it?

Well, if the expectation is not to think, no, they couldn’t be blamed.

If, however, one gave it some thought, the Senior Day could have been moved to a more widely attended game.  There is no reason you can only honor your seniors on the last game of the season.

Sure.

I would have been there too, had I lived anywhere near.

The important part is many will not.  For them, Tulsa on a Saturday?  Maybe.  Probably.  Thursday, more iffy.  USF doesn’t have a 65-500K fan base clamoring for tickets regardless of opponent.

I think attendance on Thursdays is more related to day of week than the opponent. And it’s very rare a decent opponent would be playing the Bulls on a Thursday.

Tulsa and Thursday combined?  May not be worth the trouble and bed times with the kids.

I would not advocate for no Thursday games, but I’d give the casual fan a break on this one.  It’s not a football day.

It’s not just bedtimes. Many students have sports practices in the evenings.

I thought he was referring to the promotional effort. I remember a little about that, it did stick out as a major push for “Q” night.

We never should have moved out of that OCS.  What?  That was at Ray Jay?

:hijack:

Edit:  Told everyone on here after going to an SMU game years back.  Great tailgating setup and atmosphere outside the stadium.  And then people stay there and continue to party while the game goes on inside the stadium.
