Defense won't let that happen. Love the fact that we have a competent OL though, something we haven't had in awhile. Timmy is **** good, and HAS to have the job locked down at this point. Noticed in the first half that either the WRs were not getting open, or Timmy wasn't finding them. Every play broke down and Timmy had to make something happen with his legs each time. Aside from that disastrous 1st quarter, the offense looked pretty good. If the defense somehow finds some semblance of competence, who knows...

Optimistic about a bowl game after tonight’s performance

We’re not winning the conference this year but if we can get better on defense especially defensive backs we could possibly win it in 2022 but 2023 sounds like the most likely

I see 4-4 in conference, we're not quite there yet.  Defense is too bad..

Tulsa and Temple look like they could be wins now. Maybe Houston? If Gabriel is out for the season it is a possibility we can get by ucf. I still don’t see us beating SMU or Cincinnati

CJS coaches like a rookie when the game is close...he'd need JPP ,Q Flowers, and Mike Jenkins to win all his conf games...2-5 is his conf ceiling this year...he needs to grow into a better coach to win any conf...it might be the Irish whisky talking but he **** the bed tonight...we were good enough to win...if best is the standard then no one should be happy tonight

Technically speaking the only team on our schedule that we shouldn't be able to compete with is Cincinnati.

Good progress.

Act like you’ve been there before. Turns out, for many of us, we haven’t been there before.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
