I think the AAC is our real world, as much as it pains me to say. So somewhere between UF and Famu is reality so roughly the Busy Bee gas station which does have lovely restrooms for a gas station.

No, I meant in your analogy....

There's a reason that whenever I put in a new offense I ask that the defense only go at about 70%.  Not because I'm trying to hide anything but I need them to go at speed to develop consistency and repetition as I ramp up the defense.  Similarly I find that my team plays far tougher defense than many other teams and what DOESN'T work in practice often works in the games.  It goes both ways.

FAMU is not for Cade.  FAMU should be a chance to see what the team can do against talent on the other end of the spectrum - our end of the spectrum relatively speaking.  This is all taken into consideration.  It doesn't prove we're a good team or Cade is a good player.  What it does is provides an opportunity to play a team closer to the level we are than what we have seen thus far.  It allows us a better opportunity to prepare for the rest of the schedule.  Typically, when TV doesn't get involved, it is the reason teams play these games early season.  Bring it all together instead of running for your lives.  Week to week improvement is what gets them ready for conference games, not getting skull-bashed by P5 teams.

I think that’s the right way to look at it, I haven’t seen anything from our QB selection process and these coaches that would make me believe they wouldn’t use what they see in the game as confirmation that they reviewed practice properly and are making the right decisions

For me it was bars,  weddings, servers  coworkers and hotel staff, now I guess it’s Tinder which is probably closer to the Whore house than what was my reality (I will ask my wife if I can do some field research to confirm).

Maybe I'm not understanding.  So we shouldn't play anyone, any time?  Never would have had those wins vs Auburn, ND, etc.

I think Brad is very much for those games but when you can’t beat anyone they probably aren’t helping you very much in getting past that problem. Playing the best is the best way to improve unless you are completely out classed at which point a little more confidence and practice that actually allows you to finish the plays probably gets you there a bit quicker.

But these games are set up years in advance.  Unless your scheduler (AD) is Nostradamus............

No, Ricky, I'm only discussing what can be learned from playing lesser talented teams without it leading to overestimating your abilities against the higher talented teams.

P.S. You know I am all for those big games.

I think he was just reacting to my claim that I’m not sure that FAMU will help us as much as we hope, he was offering the counter point that it will help more than getting beat down.
