1. Xavier Weaver is open more often than not.

2. He also can catch.

3. This is a good thing.

Being decent at football is fun. See second half for details

I saw decent to good play calling this week. The execution needs work, but there was incremental improvement there. It wasn't until uf's 3d or 4th stringers were in that we looked somewhat similar in size. Holy smokes their starters dwarfed ours.

Team has to work on tackling.

I want to see the team make a statement vs FAMU...build something off 2nd half of UF game.  If we are in a dog fight with FAMU...we will be lucky if we win another game this year.

Playing calling was improved in game 2..keep that up.

My concern is that FAMU can give the false sense of what can work which may not actually translate to any other team on the schedule. Most any offense would look amazing against a JV football team and most any offense would fail miserably against an NFL team. We need things that can be executed against AAC teams which may appear possible against FAMU but cannot be replicated.

Good so we can see what works, build some confidence and make adjustments when it doesn't work as well against the #13 team.  Perfect time to work on execution.

I agree I just hope we are selective in using things that worked against UF but could have used better execution and not go wide open on the playbook and then conclude almost anything may work.

I only coached as far as high school basketball.  Figuring out what works and doesn't work against different levels and teams within each level is pretty easily determined.  I have confidence our rookie head coach is not so naïve as to conclude if something works against FAMU anything will work (anywhere for that matter).  Maybe I am naïve.
