Correct that's how being a starting QB works. Definitely means something for CJS to give him the job publicly like that. I'm not surprised as the others on the roster are either too inexperienced or more erratic throwing the ball. The hope is the young guys develop as they do have higher ceilings imo. I've heard Fortin has not looked at all like what people here expected....

So CCS left the team with completely no talent to the point where expecting even a single FBS win is an unreasonable expectation but CJS brought in grad transfers to try to fill the QB position and yet they are less talented than the talentless players on the CCS roster? Interesting and yet none of any responsibility could possibly even the smallest sliver fall on his shoulders.

Typically that statement is not made when name a starting qb...listen, Pat Mahomes is our starter until he isn't...you don't hear that statement being made...

When we need a third down conversion on the 45 yard line of our opponents, he will just not do it.

Part of this decision I believe is that McCloud has established himself as a leader on the team.  The rest of the 3 QBs are either transfers or a true freshman.

He didn't make that statement when naming JM the starter. It was in response to a follow up question. What he's saying is basically it's Jordan's job to lose at this point ....... no more qb roulette.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
