I imagine that CCS will have to see what his market value is. 

He could have sat and done nothing after Texas and still received his same $5 million a year. 

However, by signing up with USF, he got himself an additional (approx.) $8 million over 3 more additional years. 

I imagine his next contract offer would be vastly lower. $250k-$500k as a D coordinator? A lot would depend on when and if he plans on retiring. With the amount of money he has made, he probably could get a much better return on his time focused in something other than coaching.
