expect the best and prepare for the worst. we will never be able to financially run off any big program but we can make sure that we don't cripple ourselves if we make a bad hire.

I’m sure the numbers will be something like $1 if he leaves and 90% of his contract if we ask him to leave.

I don't think it is all of our biggest fear, that he is successful and pays us money to leave.   My biggest fear is that he sucks and we have to pay him to go away.
