Yes our kicker is bad. But CCS put him in a position to fail by repeatedly asking him to kick 20 yards beyond what he is capable of. This is coaching 101, you put your players in positions that match their capabilities. I couldn’t agree more and it’s where I diverge with the more vocal members of this board. The talent we have is on par with our conference and if we didn’t go out of our way always put people in positions to lose instead of win we would be competing with the rest of the conference. There are people on here that would still call it a talent problem if the coaching staff sent the kicker out to kick a 116 yard field goal, now people will call this hyperbolic but there is no logical reason why it’s any more ridiculous than sending the kid at there to kick 50+ yarders because either way they aren’t making them. Trained him to fail? What is he a monkey? One is responsible for ones own failure. Edited November 17, 2019 by NewEnglandBull

First time in a long time that they played with emotion and coached to win the game.

Its pretty simple the kicker sucks ass. The FG’s he missed were from the right hash. The one he made was from the left hash. 3rd and five you run it to maybe get the first down or put the ball on the left hash. It would also forced UC to call another time out. Coaches have try and put their players in the best chance to succeed. Coaches had to see he that. this game felt like the Huston game.

I will say the defense stepped up and KB called a better game than he has in the past. KB had the oline improve in a week, which is a surprising. We will loose Wilcox, Sands, and Cronkite next year. We don't have a lot of talent to replaced them. CCS and KB need to recruit a bigger RB, OL, and make sure Tate Rodemaker stays committed. He should probably be in the mix for the starter next season. We will also lose a lot of big contributors on defense. The defense has really progressed, but our offense has not really given them the support. The game is on the kicker, but if he is not drilling 25 to 30 yard kicks consistently why make him attempt 40 + yard kicks? Go for it... We need a new kicker no questions asked.
