We have one of the absolute best Tight Ends in the game. Why don't we throw him the ball every play?

One target at Navy is a serious coaching error.

Need someone to throw it to him beyond 5 yards

My basic understanding is this:

1) He has had to shore up our OLine for various reasons so the QB has time to throw

2) Our QB is injured

3) Our passing game is ineffective for reasons beyond QB injury

Could be wrong but I think that sums it up.

Send Wilcox downfield for a pass and the QB doesn't have time to get the ball to him before being sacked. Keep Wilcox at the line of scrimmage to help the O-line block and we have one less receiver for the defense to cover , meaning our downfield receivers are covered well and the QB doesn't have anywhere to go with the ball and Wilcox is not available to throw the ball to.

Until we get a culpable offensive line, we are in a lose lose situation.

I believe that there is plenty of culpability to go around on that line 😁

Look at the bright side of this fiasco, we'll all save money for Christmas by staying home in December.

I was telling Penelope that at least we didn't have to guess if we were going to miss anything by leaving the country

Actually, I feel bad for Wilcox.  Obviously an outstanding talent, he won't be able to put up numbers representative of his talent.  At least scouts have plenty of tape on him.

wasn't to impressed with CCS comment on qb situation..something to the effect that if it's Rygol  oh sure he could do it or some other comment that should make the kid feel really good..only thing his comment was missing was a big sigh and an eye roll.... Rygol looks to be a solid guy that has some speed and a quick release, throws on the run..?? yep he's a question mark and prob hasn't gotten a whole lot of practice reps but theres a lot of teams out there having great success with their back-up qb.. ECU be a good game to try him. They aren't a roll over this year and yes I believe if we don't play good ball they will beat us..

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
