It does make you wonder, I hate that I still give a shat, this literally puts a dark cloud on every weekend.  Watching a couple minutes of UCF shows how far advanced they are, scoring more points in 5 minutes then we can score in a couple games.  That was a kick in the nuts as well, my balls are tired of being sore.

They could easily run the table again this year.  Very tough on both sides of the ball.

Feels like they should hand out cups before all Bulls games

I think they will run the table now.  I hate to say this, but honestly, the look like a P5 team-in-waiting out there.  Its only a matter of time for them.

Just because they are good does not mean they are P5...are they worth adding $22 mil? Doubtful...

Its more than about being good, its about the state of the entire Athletics program.  They seem to be good in everything right now, they have fan support, alumni support and they are in the works to expand their stadium.  Its only a matter of time for them.

No...it’s about money...they are not worth $22 mil a year...of course no G5 team is...

This isn't the Premier League-- you don't "earn" your way into the better conference-- it is about backroom deals and other BS. They will only see a P5 conference if that conference needs them for some reason. When USF got into the Big East-- it was due to our relationships with schools like Louisville, our presence in Florida for other teams recruiting, the size of our school and TV market (though that assumed our market cared about USF more than UF/FSU/MIami - which is decidedly not accurate), and to be fair-- being in the right place at the right time with a conference that was more or less desperate.

The only conference even close to that position currently in the P5 is the Big 12 -- and they seem just fine NOT expanding for whatever reason - mostly I think because they do not want to split their TV revenues with more teams and possibly the travel considerations for all sports. Who knows. The people who control this crap are happy as can be with how the last conference shake up landed. They have effectively shut out all these whipper snapper schools from playing in their exalted ranks-- even though they carry some teams that are pathetic at most sports. That we were ever part of the BIG conferences during our brief stint in the Big East makes our situation frustrating for fans who got used to sort of mattering - even while being crapped on by ESPN as a conference every step of the way.
