Tropical Storm Dorian

Recommended Posts

Guest Jonesy Bull

Not surprisingly, Dorian is now expected to be a Category 2 when it hits the East Coast.  As we know in Florida, this time of year these storms can blow up fast.

Luckily for us in Tampa, looks like it is continuing to trend northward, and hopefully will miss us with the exception of some outer bands.

The good news for the game, no impacts on Friday in Florida whatsoever.

Man, I’ll take a snow storm any day over this. Tampa usually does well staying off the path of a direct hit.

At that projection we won't even get a good rain out of it. I just hope Dorian doesn't slow way down, or stall as some have, and sit over Atlanta.

We have been crazy lucky.  We have missed so many potential direct hits over the years.

There is a folk story that the Indians put a Blessing on the Tampa Bay area years ago from getting direct hits by hurricanes.  So far so good!

They just missed the Sun Dome with that Blessing.

Given recent weather trends, I don't think we need any help from Dorian to face a potential flood/lightning alert Friday night at Ray Jay.   It's even possible a slow mover could mean a washout for our first two games.

P.S.:  If the tropical storm leaves us under rain clouds do we call the sky "Dorian Gray"?
