They grew up somewhere within driving distance of the school. Most people in the Tampabay area grow up and stay here. We lack generational fans. It took bucs over 20 years and lightning did it faster. We have to convert fans.

Growing up in Illinois my dad and grandfather were Bears fans, so even after moving to Tampa in HS it took me 10 years and 5 years of season tix to finally convert to a Bucs fan. I was not even a college football fan in college Until the first wide right and became a cane fan. I was in Norman, Oklahoma watching the U get dismantled by OU 54-13 at 11 am of Sept 2007 and later drove back to Dallas and-watched USF beat Auburn that night on their trek to #2 and converted to a bull as well. Everyone does it on their own time and for some it takes more time than others. We convert people by winning and excitement so let’s do that this year.

I grew up a UGA and attended many Bulldog games. But as soon USF started football that was it for that nonsense. Even with Georgia’s success I couldn’t name three players on their team now.

I am referring to alumni who don’t make their living for another university. That being said, you really don’t know if Mr. Selmon put USF over his alma mater OU. Probably supported them equally. Well then, I suppose I should never have accepted an invite from Lee Roy to a USF game and then purchased season tickets, and attended almost every game for years.
